2025 marks Marie’s sixth year participating in the run some fashion, which has evolved into a family event. Her husband, Jeff, who has previously participated as a runner, will continue his role as the driver of the chase vehicle. Their son, Carson, who joined as a runner for the first time last year, will be returning, and their daughter, Breanna, will be participating as a runner for the first time.
Marie draws inspiration for the run from her 20 years working in healthcare. “My passion has always been working with children. I have been there when we have had to tell families the devastating news that their child has cancer, and it is heartbreaking. I have also met some wonderful families, and I participate in the St. Jude run because it is an opportunity to give back and maybe restore hope in those who may feel like there is none.”
“My favorite thing about the run is the time in the morning when we all get together and say a prayer then listen to stories from St. Jude patients. It is a great way to remind us all why we are there.”
“My favorite run would be last year’s run because Jeff and I got to drive the chase vehicle, and our son Carson ran for the first time. I loved that he got to experience the run and how much impact a little community could have to help fight childhood cancer.“
