Our run is set up for participants to be able to run as much or as little as they want. Our 29-mile route is split into 17 legs, and we have support vehicles with us all day. Runners participate in the legs they want, with no required minimum or maximum limit. Most of the route is run at an easy pace of about 12-minute miles with the exception of two identified “fast legs” which are run at about a 9-minute pace. The first six miles of our route are local Eureka miles where we enjoy a great deal of community support. We round out the morning by running to Washington where we stop for lunch before running to Downtown Peoria via the scenic Highview Drive in the afternoon. Snacks, drinks, and lunch are provided, and the day is spent running and/or spending time with a great group of people in support of a great cause. Coming over the bridge into downtown Peoria and encountering thousands of cheering supporters and patient families is an indescribable feeling that you owe it to yourself to experience.
Each runner must meet a $1,000 minimum fundraising commitment in order to participate.
